LOVE LIGHT TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY
December 6, 2008
The 3rd Annual Love Light Tree Lighting Ceremony was held Sat., Dec.
6 at 5:00 p.m. in front of the Worcester Village School. The Tree will be
donated by Audrey & Jim Richardson, and Wreaths for the front doors will
be donated by Tom and Judy Lang of Balsam Acres. Many thanks to all for their
generosity!
Events included a performance by the U-32 Camerata and Chorus, tree
lighting, reading of names of loved ones, carol singing; followed by refreshments
inside.

WHS Town Meeting Lunch Fundraiser
Tues., March 4, 2008- once again Bon Temps Gourmet (Gretchen Saries &
Greg Labarthe) are very generously donating the entrees for the meal:
Shepherd's Pie
Moussaka-vegetarian casserole with potatoes, eggplant, mushrooms and
béchamel sauce
There will also be tossed salad, and a potluck of other salads provided
by WHS, friends, and neighbors (please call Elizabeth at 229-9468 by Sat.,
March 1 if you can bring a salad!)

Saturday, March 15- Irish Ceili 7:00 - 8:00
Irish Step Dancers (myself and 3 others) will perform, as will Bagpiper
Michael Close of Worcester, and singers of Irish ballads. We will also teach
everyone the Ceili dance, "The Rakes of Mallow". After that, from 8:00 -
9:30, it will be a regular Contra Dance.

Saturday, April 12- 5:00-6:00 Potluck Supper
6:00-7:00 Adam Boyce will give a program, "Sprightly Steps: Vermont's
Contra and Square Dancing Tradition", followed by the Contra Dance 7:00-9:30.
Adam (who is a fiddler and calls dances) gives this talk through the Vermont
Humanities Council's Speakers Bureau! He was in Worcester for our Bicentennial
year 4th of July with the Ed Larkin Contra Dancers.

Contra Dances at Doty School Gym, 2nd Saturday evenings, 7:00-9:30, beginning
Nov. 10 and running through Mud Season. The Parsnips (traditional musicians)
are excited to have a regular venue with community involvement, and the dances
are good fundraisers for the WHS.
